Genesis 1-3
1. Genesis 2:24-" Therefore shall a aman leave his bfather and his mother, and shall ccleave unto his dwife: and they shall be eone flesh."
My Thoughts
Being newly married, (2 years as of July 30), I still consider myself newly married, I like this scripture because I see how it has blessed my marriage so far. The Lord says if you start your own family, start it completely with your spouse. Don't let your family take you away from that. If you have conflicting interests between your spouse and your parents, take your spouses interests at heart. Put your spouse and children first before your parents. Okay, put God first, than your family, the one that you formed, and then your parents and siblings and such.
The promised blessing from this is that you shall be one flesh. In other words, you two will be united and you won't have any problems. Well, the problems won't be coming from putting your parents before your spouse.
But of the fruit of the atree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
They didn't physically die at least not immediately. They however we cast out of the garden and cast out of the physical presence of the Lord, which is a spiritual death. That is the punishment for sin. So, this one is impossible to keep, but if we don't sin, then we don't spiritually die.
Luckily, we have the Savior and because of Him we can overcome the effects of sin. Which leads to the next promised blessing
3: 15 And I will put aenmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; bit shall cbruise thy head, and thou shalt dbruise his heel.
This is the promised blessing of God about his Son. There is going to be hatred or ill will between mankind and the devil. With that ill will Satan will try to destroy Mankind and frustrate God's plan, but With Christ being the Son of God and of Mary, He will destroy Satan by performing the Atonement.
4. The final thought I have is from Genesis 3:19
In the asweat of thy face shalt thou eat bbread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for cdust thou art, and unto ddust shalt thou return.
This seems like it would be pretty horrible, now we have to work. Well, I stayed home with a baby, and when she is taking a nap for 3 hours at time and you have no housework to do with nothing to do all day but watch t.v. or waste time (at least that is what I did), I got bored and then I would just beat myself up because I wasn't productive. This is a promised blessing that if we work, we get to enjoy the fruits of it.
