Divine Protection

Genesis 31
42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the alabour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

This is the story of Jacob leaving Laban with his wives and his children as well as all the cattle. In this account, Jacob worked 7 years to marry Rachel, but was given Leah as a wife. So, after a week he married Rachel and had to work another 7 years. Then he worked 6 years for some cattle. According to Jacob, his wages have been changed 10 times in the course of the 6 years, and it doesn't seem like they were good changes.

I read this verse and I thought of how the Lord promised that through Jacob there would be a mighty nation, and the whole promise to Issac and Abraham would be fulfilled through Jacob. Well, it would take a lot of cattle and wealth to provide for all of his children, and even though we don't know how things or going to happen or how long it will take, but he will make the means to do so. I mean Jacob spent 20 years to build up a family and be able to provide for them, that is a long time to see if a blessing will start to happen.

Heavenly Father will always bless us if He promises. The plan of how that will happen is not known to us though.
