Fleeing Temptation

In Genesis chapter 39, Joseph is in Egypt and he was punished for "trying to lie" with Potipher's wife. Well, that is not how it happened, but that is for another discussion. Joseph is put into prison and you would wonder how in the heck does this have to do with promised blessings being fulfilled.

21 ¶But the aLord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

22 And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the adoer of it.

23 The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to aprosper.

In these following verses you can see that even though Joseph got into a pickle, through no fault of his own, he is being favored and blessed. The Lord through dreams was telling Joseph what will happen and that cannot happen in this life if Joseph is dead, so he is being spared. Like some of the other blog posts this isn't directly related to the dreams he had, but it is the preserving of life to realize those dreams.

On another note, Joseph even though imprisoned, is prospering because he kept the commandments. He fled when temptation was in front of him and he has been keeping the commandments of the Lord.
